2018 WMBEXA Nominees Announced

With the 2018 WMBEXA nomination period having closed on December 18th, representatives from the Prairie Sky Chamber of Commerce spent the last few days before Christmas delivering good news to business owners in the region.  Over 100 nominations were received for this years’ five awards categories that include the Customer Service, Community Involvement, New Business of the Year, Non-Profit of the Year and Business of the Year.  It was truly an honor to be able to brighten the day of local business owners with the news of their nomination.  Many were completely surprised and some were even brought to tears.  They all were very humbled that people took time to recognize them for their hard work.  To see photos of the nominees, click HERE.

Changes to the Business Excellence Awards program continue as the Chamber aims to better align the awards to ensure consistency, transparency and better representation of the business community. This years’ nominees who receive multiple nominations will be asked to accept a maximum of two (2) categories that best represents their business.

In total, 84 local businesses have been recognized and are invited to attend the 2018 WMBEXA nominee luncheon on January 11th, 2018, Here, nominees will network with each other as well as award sponsors and hear firsthand from previous award recipients on the process and the benefits of participating. Opportunity to ask questions will also be provided.

Application deadline is January 31, 2018.  Judges will then spend the next few weeks reviewing the applications.  On March 15, 2018, the five (5) finalists in each category will be announced.  On May 4, 2018, we will bring together business and community leaders to celebrate business excellence and reveal the 2018 WMBEXA recipients.
